This was a really nice vet visit to Vets4Pets; even our cat wanted to stay
We have been with Vets4Pets for a few months, having moved from our previous vet after our cat decided she did not like anyone there. On 17 August 2026, we brought our little female tuxedo in for flea and worm treatment and a general check-up, and we decided to join the £17.99 monthly care plan, which seems to offer excellent value if you can use the services offered which seem broad enough and worthwhile to take advantage of. This helped us make our routine costs more predictable.
The first person I came across was Meg at reception. She was cheerful, thoughtful, thorough and efficient, making everything easy and pleasant and showed me the form to complete to sign up for the service, which was very simple to do.
Obviously we had to see the vet that day, because we were worried that our cat had got worms and they might be consuming her food; she appeared to be eating normally but losing weight. so we went in to see the vet. That was a game-changer from our previous vet; We met Erin. Warm, patient and clearly a genuine animal person, (of course you would hope so) but she took more time than we were accustomed to, to understand our cat, including her recent weight loss after picking up worms from eating what she catches while hunting in the garden.
Remarkable for our cat is that she immediately relaxed with Erin; that's a first. She is an excellent judge of people, and her reaction said everything: she was happy to meet Erin and made no attempt to escape and no trying to grip the edge of the table or the cat carrier. Given more time, I suspect she would have climbed onto Erin.
I have become aware over some recent months that there is some concern by people who worry that larger veterinary group practices may feel corporate or lose the personal touch, but nothing about Vets4Pets felt that way. The care was personal, thoughtful and reassuring. We have booked our next appointment with Erin and look forward to seeing her again.
We like the way they do things. We liked the approach to calming the pets, and we also liked what they do by lighting a little candle if one of our beloved furry friends has to go to the other side. It showed respect. Personally, I think it showed a deeper understanding, whereas our previous independent vet practice always felt like it was just business and just routine to them. I never got the sense that the vet was on the same wavelength as me and our cat knew.
So you can understand then why we were delighted with our experience at Vets4Pets. I hope my account of visit, along with others here will attract your interest in trying Vets4Pets.
Our little tuxedo is smart and probably psychic, but this time at the vets, her verdict was clear: Vet Erin is approved.
I had a very poorly cat that I took to be check over at the Torquay branch.
Everyone was wonderful.
The reception were so kind and compassionate in a very stressful situation.
The vet Megan i cannot praise highly enough. She was so thorough and professional, explaining everything every step of the way and I felt really confident after seeing her.
She even phoned me the following day to check on her.
4 days later, it's like nothing ever happened. Cat is back to normal and happy playing and basking in the sun.
So very grateful to everyone.
Thank you
Took our dog Harley to see Nina fantastic vet sorry too hear your leaving .Hope all goes well best wishes from Angela and David Barry
Money money money .... no care for the animals just greed in pocket . Psid money for a consultation ( which i didnt want ) but realised you need too before spaying so paid then when I had struggled to get cat in box and cat was getting distressed I called them and explained. No other appointment could be given without another 60 being paid . This isnt the first time ive experienced money over care of animal. It's appalling . Shame on you vets4pets torquay looks like others have found you money orientated.
Vets for Pets seem more interested in treating wallets than animals. Every visit feels like they've diagnosed my bank account first! We took our cat there because she was having problems with her mouth and kept chewing as if something was stuck. We took her to Vets for Pets in Torquay, and they told us she had gum disease and needed dental work, which they said would cost thousands of pounds.
We weren't convinced, so we registered her with a different vet. Sadly, it turned out she was dying. Based on my experience, I won't be going back there. I felt they were more interested in making money than finding out what was really wrong.
Brilliant, friendly staff , I would like to thank everyone for all your help with spud and are beautiful little tinkerbell who we had put to sleep at the end of 25.Thank you for the beautiful card and everyone kind words . Even though that was the frist time they had meet tinkerbell. So kind of you all . Thank you so much 💓
My partner took our second cat for vaccines with vets4pets and during the consultation the vet offered flea treatment. My partner declined as we have some at home and don’t need it to which the vets said ‘you may aswell take it as it’s included’ so my partner took it and was charged £25 for it. On realising this tried to return it and was denied. The receptionist was rude and infantilising. The next day I emailed the practice manager to complain about this and they said it’s unusual for them to sell flea treatment as it’s much cheaper OTC (£10) and so this didn’t happen and must’ve been miscommunication. They had no interest in checking cctv to verify events. No effort to resolve the issue and pretty much pushed us out of the door when we said we would have to change practices due to a break down in trust. It seems they don’t care to maintain clients and care more about grabbing money wherever they can.
My first cat is highly energetic and the practice also wasn’t equipped to deal with this. They couldn’t complete the health check and couldn’t get all of the vaccine in either due to movement so I would just be cautious if you have a high energy animal taking them here.
We used quarry vets to neuter our first cat and the experience was so much smoother and nicer! We were involved in all decisions and got break downs of prices on the invoice which was discussed with the vet who did the op.
